The comedy elements

Postby Devils_Reject » Sun Mar 01, 2009 2:40 pm

Each of the films have some comedic elements to the films which support of the whole self-referential style of the film, talking about horror films etc. but should the funny stuff be left out of Scream 4? Because of Scary Movie and other spoofs like Shriek it's caused the original Scream to be not as effective and theres people now which laugh at scenes because it reminds them of Scary Movie which often really irritates me, if they went for a more darker Scream film devoid of comedy (but with the horror movie references still in it of course) it may cause the other three to be taken more seriously amongst more casual viewers who aren't really fans of it and horror films in general. What do you lot think? Or should they just stick to the main formula regardless of it being taken seriously or not?

You gotta keep the same formula. These movies have to have the humorous side to them. Thats how they are.
Gale: Jesus, the camera! Hurry!
Kenny: My name isn't Jesus.

yes, keep some good lines in there for some humor here and there.. otherwise it isn't scream,if its a serious type film all the time then you may as well watch a court based film.. BORING.

yeah goin on what ghostface said; The whole point of the scream movies is they make fun of typical horror/slasher film clichés. Also if you look at all the horror classics like Halloween, Elm Street, Friday 13th and all the originals, then you'll find that they all have some comedy to them.

Randy: never, ever, ever under any circumstances say, "I'll be right back." Because you won't be back.
Stu: I'm gettin' another beer, you want one?
Randy: Yeah, sure.
Stu: I'll be right back!
