The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise

Postby Devils_Reject » Thu Jan 01, 2009 4:53 pm

I love most of these films, In order TCM 1, TCM remake, TCM: the beginning and TCM 2 are my favourites, Leatherface: TCM III was okay but due to the MPAA and BBFC being wimps they cut out most of the gore which pretty much eliminated the shock factor director Jeff Burr wanted also they ignored Part 2 completely and there are numerous plot holes and some moments which were too cringe worthy and corny for me, I haven't seen TCM: Next Generation and frankly I don't wanna, it sounds and looks shockingly awful. What are your thoughts on these?

i love them all but least favorites are 2 and 4 i love the remake and the prequel. i still love 2 and 4 but 4 has some BAD ACTING for example "please stop your scaring me mister" THATS FROM A TEENAGE BOY AND OLD TEENAGE NOT YOUNG TEENAGE but 4 got some good scenes and chases

Overall they're six of them (including the remake and prequel), it's wierd though parts 3+4 both ignore the previous film and both intend to be the true sequel to the first movie.

I've only seen the remake and the shitty prequal. As you can see, me calling the prequal "shitty", suggests that I do not like it at all, lol.
Gale: Jesus, the camera! Hurry!
Kenny: My name isn't Jesus.

i hope and wish they would make a 5th one
in the beginning explaining how his victims killed his original family and leather face went to 2 new families each time the victim killing some of the people in the family!
and it can be set in the 1990s right after the next generation
oh i wish!

The third one, ignores the second one it's meant to be the sequel to the first film.

ScreamKing, you didn't like the prequel how come? Most people seemed to enjoy it, it wasn't as good as the remake but imo it's better than 2+3 (I haven't seen 4)

Lol, it's impossible to tie all the films together because
Spoiler: show
Leatherface dies in TCM 2 and at the start of TCM III it ignores the second by saying that the cook got arrested and was executed though he got chainsawed and killed with his own grenade in TCM 2 and they changed his name
IMO they should carry on with a new series from where the remake left off.

I liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning the best... At least i think thats the one. The one where the skinny guy with the mustache kills the cop and then pretends to be a cop. And the brothers going to Vietnam. I only really liked it because it was funny, haha.

The Beginning was proper brutal, I laughed at some of Sheriff Hoyt's quotes like "Shit, I just killed the whole fucking Sheriff's department!" but other than I was on edge quite alot, I cringed a lot during some of the deaths like the
Spoiler: show
chainsaw hacking up that guy's chest while he was on the table who then had his face cut off, that was pretty graphic.
