Could this movie be better without Jennifer?

Postby Ivan » Fri May 29, 2009 7:10 pm

I have recently rewatched Scream 3 and liked it a lot (as usually), but with one exception and that is the character of Parker Posey. Anytime she appears on the screen, the movie turns into a comedy. The way she talks, behaves and moves is so stupid.

The trilogy is notable for its humor, yes, but it still is a horror genre. Posey is too much, IMHO...

That was her character... she was an overeacting bitch... lol I loved her. She made Scream 3 that much more enjoyable. She gave Gail something to act off of.

to be honest the whole "Hollywood" theme bollocks the third film up! Should have been a return to woodsboro with woodsboro characters.

Well thats what we got. The hollywood theme. An annoying actress was perfect for it. She was sooo hooked on the story, trying to figure out the truth with Dewey and Gail and it ended up killing her... kind of sad actually.

A lot of people seem to love Jennifer but I just can't bring myself to like her much lol too over the top IMO I didn't care for her much so I didn't care when she was murdered but as said before the whole Hollywood theme messed the film up a bit, to me it became a kind of standard thriller.

agreed, the standards were lowered too much, in my honest opinion i think the second and third films themes of sequels and trilogies were wrong to do,in the first it was ok because it was just a couple of movie freaks, but the films that followed should have been about a normal nutter/s / murderers without all movie rules involved,in real life we don't have movie rules,so Scream 2 and 3 should have just had Life rules, not following the sequel and trilogy path.
