I've always wondered that, besides the motive being peer pressure :D I think it may have been a possible revenge on the gf's thing, seeing that Casey dumped him for Steve but Stu was a pure psychotic anyway he was more insane than Billy thats for sure, it'll always be ambigious unless it's revealed in Scream 4 (hope hope)
