Scream mask Information - Ghost Face TM
The mask was first seen by Wes Craven and his crew while scouting for locations for the first film..
It represented the painting by "Edvard Munch" called "The Scream" and was used as the first films mask after deciding it was just what they wanted.
The robe itself is made of a thick metallic material that IS shiny.
The bottom of the robe is cut into small triangles and also holds together at the front with velcro from the neck to the waist...

Apart from Tatum calling the killer "Mr Ghostface" in the garage scene,we dont really hear or know of the killer as "Ghostface" |

The first Scream mask was made by a company known as KNB..The mask itself is alot flatter than the others and was finally put to one side as Craven decided to use a mask made by "Fun World" instead,this would cost money,but in the end it paid off... LITERALLY!! The only scenes that used the "KNB Mask" where Caseys and Himbry's death scenes.So throughout the rest of the film it was the "Highly remembered and still bought" Funworld mask.
Although i myself think the "KNB mask" was also used for the scene in the shop where Tatum and Sid talk about Billy and the party,and also when the killer appears in the bushes after hearing Sid and Tatum talk about Cotton and Maureen on tatums porch..If you look close im sure its the "KNB" mask!! |
In Scream 2 the "Eye surrounds" appear to bulge out slightly more in my opinion,also another edition seems to be some black type of "Dreadlocks" either side coming down from the top of the main hood...The masks sold today are glow in the dark but the ones used for Scream 2 Wasnt! The mask is also now a but more rubbery and plyable than its previous one used in Scream.The robe itself appears to have been kept the same,at the bottom of the robe it is now cut into squares instead of triangles...
In Scream 3 The so-called "Dreadlocks" are gone...The mask seems somewhat more symmetrical due to it being made with stronger rubber,the eyes are slightly wider,the chin downwards looks very slightly different. |

Below we have the ever popular Scream mask/Ghost Face card that has the masks attached and also they came as NON Glow versions which would simply have the yellow star missing on the card,the actual "Ghost Face" font is one ive never seen anywhere for a download,the only to way to get the letters is to scan the card and edit in a program like Photoshop.The main costume card would be the same design and would give a size on the bottom corner of the package stating what size and weight it was ideal for. |
